The 2015 wrestling post-season will be slightly different from the past two seasons. While there is talk of the PIAA possibly changing the state brackets to 20 wrestlers per weight class for the upcoming season, District 1 has made some changes and proposals to their post-season schedule leading to states.

The first weekend of the AAA post-season (Saturday, February 14th) will remain the same, with league tournaments feeding into three District tournaments. The locations for the league tournaments will be: Central at Harriton, Ches-Mont at West Chester Rustin, Delaware Valley at Academy Park, PAC-10 at Boyertown, SOL American at Plymouth Whitemarsh, SOL Continental at Hatboro Horsham, and SOL National at Neshaminy. The number of qualifiers per league to Districts also remains the same as in recent seasons: District 1 East includes Delaware Valley (3), SOL Continental (4), and SOL National (4); District 1 Central includes Ches-Mont (7) and SOL American (4); District 1 West includes Central (6) and PAC-10 (5).

The District 1 wrestling steering committee has proposed changing the three District tournaments to a two-day event held on Friday, February 20th and Saturday, February 21st. Each tournament would have an 11-man bracket and will feature full wrestlebacks. The top 4 from each would advance to the South East regional tournament. Previously Districts were held in one day with pigtail losers eliminated and only 3 advancing to regions. The proposed changes still need to be approved by District 1 before becoming official for 2015. The tournaments will be held at Interboro (District 1 East), Wissahickon (District 1 Central), and Spring-Ford (District 1 West).

The South East AAA regional tournament will be held on Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th at Oxford HS. Each bracket will feature 12 wrestlers with full wrestlebacks. The region will get 4 state qualifiers this year regardless of the PIAA's decision to expand the brackets.

Both Districts and Regions (for AAA) would wrestle out to 6 places.

States will once again be held at the Giant Center in Hershey, with the 2015 tournament being held on March 5th, 6th, and 7th. Regarding the possible change to the state brackets, increasing the size of the brackets to 20 wrestlers per weight is not a done deal just yet. The PIAA will vote on the proposal at its May 21st meeting. If the proposal passes, the changes will be applied to the 2015 tournament. If the proposal fails, District 1 is slated to have 4 qualifiers (in AAA) in 2015 with District 3 having the extra qualifier in 2016.

District 1's plans for the AA post-season have not yet been announced. Also, no site locations have been selected for the 2015 District Duals.
