Donald "Donnie" Heimbach

Inducted in 2009

His wrestling tradition originating in the late 1960s and early 1970s as a Boyertown High grappler, Donald (Donnie) Heimbach has contributed mightily to the local mat program.

Mr. Heimbach was one of the original organizers and coaches with the Boyertown Youth Wrestling (formerly Demons) organization.

He instructed and mentored hundreds (perhaps thousands) of young grappers ... and he watched quite a number of them mature through the ranks (some of those young men advancing all the way to the PIAA Wrestling Championships in Hershey).

He continues to be an active supporter of Boyertown area wrestling, and he is a dedicated member and volunteer with the Boyertown Area Wrestling Association.

Currently, the Boyertown Youth Wrestling Club presents a prestigious (annual) Most Valuable Player award to a deserving young athlete, and that award carries the "Donald Heimbach" name.
